What to take to University: Lectures

  • Books - Don't rush out to buy the books on your book list. Chances are they'll be in the library, save yourself the money.
  • Notebooks - Lots of them to make notes in your lectures and seminars.

  • Pens
  • Pencils
  • Sharpies - good for writing on t-shirts at Carnage and t-shirt events too

  • Laptop
  • Ipad - Obviously not essential
  • Kindle - I put pdf versions of my module guides on mine
  • Highlighters
  • Dictaphone - Perfect for recording 9am lectures when you're half asleep. If you want to splash out have a look at Livescribe.
  • Memory stick

  • Rubber/Eraser
  • Ruler
  • Pencil sharpener

  • Printer - Worth buying 100%, will save you money on printing at the library. 
  • Paper
  • Ink

  • Note Cards - Great for using in presentations and revision.
  • Post it notes
  • Page markers - I prefer these to post its for marking pages.
  • Pins
  • Paper clips
  • Stapler
  • Hole punch
  • Cellotape
  • String

  • Pen pots
  • Blu-tac
  • Scissors
  • Envelopes
  • Stamps
  • Calculator - Even if you're not doing maths!
  • Spare batteries

  • Magazine files - I use these to organise all my work for each module
